Have you tried Tide Pods yet? *Review*

I was recently sent samples of Tide Pods. I typically use detergents that are on sale and combined with my coupons offer the best price. I do not like using the "cheap" stuff, but I do tend to buy products that are priced lower than most after savings. I had not tried the Tide Pods yet because I had a laundry room of products I have not used up yet. I decided to use my Pods after our week long camping trip with my husband and 2 boys. I have to say, when it comes to detergent and Tide tends to be at the top of the price range-you DO get what you pay for. These worked great!

We camped on a lake attached to the Dunes and had clothes that had been swam in for a week and clothes that had a weeks worth of ATV-riding Mud and caked on sand. Blankets, sleeping bags and duffel bags of sand mixed with lake water. Load by load, the clothes came out fresh and I never had to cycle a single item through a second time! On a normal week, I have so many loads of laundry! I have a teen and .....

his clothes are afraid of the hamper! They seem to hop right out of it every time he says he "swears he uses the hamper"! My husband and I work jobs that require different clothing than we like to wear around the house so between bed, work and lounging we change up to 3 times a day so after just 4 days we get this......

9/11: May We Never Forget

I recently watched an episode of The Secret Millionaire..a great Tear Jerker show to watch! They featured a self-made 24-year old Millionaire, Sean Belnick. I actually had a face of tears in this episode.

I was reminded of the impact of 9/11 as Sean met Pete and Tony who benefit from New York's Friends of Firefighters Foundation started by Nancy. The stories these Firefighters told and how they are still affected today are haunting. They recount how Emergency Workers would take shifts for days/weeks at a time. They would dig for hours, come back to a Firehouse and find any corner to catch some sleep and go back out. The suffrage of the Men and Women is the Brotherhood Motto of Never Leaving One Behind is so huge! This was one of the first and only tragedies where they did and had to leave their brother's behind as many were so decimated, they were never found whole.

I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was on my way to work and could not figure out why every Radio Station I turned to seemed silent. Then I hear on a a station "Oh My God! Oh My, Oh My...Oh My God" I will always remember those words. I turn up the radio as I notice a truck in front of mine pull over and stop. Later I realized that the silence on all the stations I tuned to were just broadcasters in a speechless moment. As I listened to the recap to understand what is happening the 2nd tower was hit. It was not long after I see jets in the Air from Whidbey Island Base and I continued to work where we lugged in a TV and just watched..all day, we watched! To have been there is unimaginable!

As 9/11 approaches, I highly encourage you find clips from this episode and remember that day and understand how it still is an impact on many. You will always remember Tony & Pete's faces..I do! One comment in the episode was made that they also are a social house for some Cancer victims believed to be affected by all the dust and debris they breathed in for days. The need is almost greater now as the effects begin to emerge..medically & emotionally.

I recently had the opportunity to review 2 tees. I had my 14 year old choose a shirt and he chose the Game Over Tee in the Funny Tee Shirt section. Ending a fantastic week of camping

Just a post to say 'Almost Home'. Been gone over a week camping...not intentionally ignoring my blog. Just have had no service and intentionally left my laptop behind! Be back at it in a few days!

Loving Ken Schram's Commentary on our local news

Here is the Pacific Northwest on Komo 4 news, we have a commentary person who appears on both the News and Komo radio. I am not one to listen to commentaries and Ken Schram can get pretty heated in his. But tonight he touched on more than one topic. Usually he appears in a quick segment with a spiel about a topic and he holds a "Schrammie" Bobble head that he gives as an award (an award you DO NOT want) in regards to who he is arguing in his segment.

Tonight, there were 3 topics: Our Seafair festivities, Tolling and the DSHS system! My husband and I both listened and agreed with every word he said and he is RIGHT. Especially in regards to his last topic. For those unfamiliar, Josh Powell was the Father who's wife went missing years ago and though we all assume him guilty, he was never convicted. Lost sole custody of his 2 boys, moved back here to Graham, Wa and in a moment last spring...gathered his 2 boys inside his home, locking out the Social Worker on a visit, used a hatchet on both boys then lit his gasoline infested rental home on fire in a ball of an explosion. Our system and Josh killed 2 adorable babies and I am glad Ken Schram reminds us change is needed!.

I am not trying to raise a controversy. I am just a wife and Mom to 3 boys and my heart hurts for the Family of Susan and those boys. And the first 2 topics are a Hooray for me too! It's a Pacific Northwest thing: Tolling & Seafair!
