My Son's Lesson in Sportsmanship with Howard B. Wigglebottom *Giveaway*

 

My son is 3 1/2 and is involved in sports already. He has swimming , YMCA Preschool PE class and last fall was in a Pee Wee soccer. At this age, coaches are just teaching the skills. There are no games and the small scrimmages they do are not score kept. However, in time he will graduate to having games and opponents and this is a great time for me to talk to him about Sportsmanship. My 14 year old is our Athlete and always has been. I am still astonished at some behavior parents have at their child's games. It seems to get better the older the child is. I imaging it is due to the teens willingness to shush their parents up when they are embarrassed and what parent would want to be shushed by their teen in an argument :-) We only had 1 year of a bad coach and that was the year my son decided never to p;lay Soccer again. He is still disinterested to this day. After reading this to my 3 year old, I have decided that this will be the book my 14 year old will read to his little brother. They can both hear the story together and discuss it. For now, my son really enjoys the end of the book where we read the discussion topics and talk about the story. He even reads the book all b y himself. See for yourself.......
