I am a new fan of Staples - A fun Customer Service story on a busy shopping weekend.

We have had such a busy shopping weekend and yesterday, my husband and I drove south a bit to hit Outlet stores near us. Before leaving the house, we needed to stop  by an office supply store. On the way out the door, I spotted a printer that caught my eye. The HP Touchsmart Plus. It was on sale a good price, but my husband suggested we wait since we will do a bit of research on best price since we may stop somewhere else. I got in the car, jumped on my phone and saw that Staples has it $10 cheaper ending that night! We looked at store availability and saw that Olympia had some and since we were headed south of there, we would stop in. Here is where the greatest Customer Service started...

We walked in wandering a second as we are not familiar with this store way down South of us and we were approached by an associate..I feel horrible I cannot remember his name and it is not on my reciept! He was young and obviously knew his stuff. We first asked about the printer and he ran around and found one in the back..phew! Last One! Then he spotted us now at the tablets and my husband asked questions, as I really want one for XMAS and he steered us to the Acer 10.1 Tablet. He took a lot of time explaining it compared to others and my mom even piped in with her questions as my sis is wanting an IPAD and she wanted to know differences. He was so focused on us and patient and seemed eager to share his knowledge. This weekend I had so many Rushed assistance everywhere I immediatley noticed how focused he was on us. He explained they are out, but could order us one online with free shipping..my husband walked to counter with him, while I satyed to look at this tablet some more. I noticed after a while, they are still at the counter and went over. The associate was on his 4th call to a store to see if he can do a purchase/ship. At this point 1 store said they would not give theirs up as they wanted the sales (my husband is a retail DM and said if he ever found out his stores pulled that crap, he would be livid!) and this kid and another MOD were also so frustrated about it. Now I have the MOD and this kid brainstorming. She suggested he call Boise and so on and he spotted some in a Tualitin, Or. store (spelling?) and they agreed to release one! Yay-and they would ship to us not the store since we came from far away! How awesome is that?! We had stressed that since they have so much time into us, we really wanted them to have the sale and we were not goimng to drive elsewhere for a store to be greedy like some of them were. The MOD and associate were so excited-even another female associate nearby did a "Yay" for us. In the process, he also talked us into the Acer monitor we had been eyeing to go with a new computer we recently purchased that was not compatible to our old monitor for video cord reasons. As a past Reatil supervisor and my husband's DM in retail career, these associates nailed it with us. They gave us time, patience, dedication and got more than just a printer sale out of us..we eneded up a printer, tablet and monitor and all at the best prices we have seen anywhere else! We talked the rest of the day about how our spur of the moment "Let's go to the Outlets" was meant to be. We never otherwise would have had any reason into this Olympia Staples store as it is about an hour away from us. I will definetley consider Staples for all my future office purchases before anyone else. I do use Staples for our office supplies at work and love the service I get in that regards also. Every call I make regarding searches/returns as I do all the ordering at my clinic, has always been so easy and satisfying! I really wish I could remember the names of these 2 associates, but all I can say to name them are they were the youngest looking male and female working the Olympia store Saturday 11/26. Now off to the store survey on my recipt to brag some more!StumbleUpon

Giveaway: Rock N Learn

CONRATULATIONS TO 'BOOK LADY' FOR WINNING!

I recently won a Rock n Learn DVD from Peacelovepoop.com and I chose Sight Words! My son loves it and I love the entire concept. It is cleverly formatted to engage my son as well as keep that brain working. I am homeschooling him this year and next for preschool and will put him in school for Kindergarten (I work full time, otherwise I am loving the Homeschooling idea). I instantly set out to find a way to obtain as much of the collection as I could for cheap as I can. My mom is a teacher and has a company come around to sell discounted items for cheap and I scored a 3-pack of the DVD's for $10! I have an extra set and am splitting them to offer one at a time. If you don't win this time..stay tuned! Since this is Giveaway #1, this winner gets the initial pick!

Our Yo Gabba Gabba LIVE Day!

I was very fortunate to win 4 tickets to Yo Gabba Gabba LIVE here in Seattle at the Beautiful Paramount Theatre. I won these tickets from Blog: Lilac City Momma.  I took a friend and her almost 4year old and my 3 1/2 year old son. Both boys were so excited all week, but I knew and warned my friend that he will FREAK out once there and act terrified. On the way there he asked to go home..that's when I knew I would not be spared of his freak out. I wanted pictures as we walked in and he was crying and I had to pry him off my shoulder, but got it(we are on the right)...

However, I knew that as always it would be a matter of time before he starts PEEKING and realizes he can have fun and I caught him PEEKING...

Getting braver..he is off my lap

See the tongue sticking out above? He is playing along with the song! Then they had a break. I figured I needed a way to remove the hands well away from the eyes as the show is now half over, so what works best in that situation? Super Why App........

That did it! He was dancing and grooving...

..and we replayed the photo shoot afterall..OK, so he has his eyes closed, but he had loved the show and even bought a Brobee doll after this photo was taken (Oh and for those wondering what has happened to Bizmarke all these years..he is bustin' some killer toddler rap at Yo Gabba Gabba shows in Seattle :-)....

Thank you Lilac City Momma and Paramount for a wonderful day!

How I got the CARS 2 DVD for $8.95!

I have been ready for the CARS 2 release since June! I loved seeing the Walgreen's deal that I could get the DVD for $17.95 and score a free Color Wonders ($10 value). I got off work and hit 3 Walgreen's to find out all locations here are sold out! BUMMER! So, I grabbed my phone and searched for DVD deals and saw that on the back of CARS Kellogg's Fruit Snacks there is a $5 coupon on the DVD or Blue Ray. I grabbed my nifty Couponizer and found no coupons..oh well! I went into Albertson's and saw the fruit Snacks that offer the coupon. I also then remembered that on Monday while shopping in this same Albertson's..I had spent enough lately to earn a $5 credit I have in my wallet. I grabbed the DVD & Fruit Snacks, tore out the coupon while in line, grabbed out my $5 credit and that &18.95 DVD became $8.95 plus the price of fruit snacks-$2-something. My son was thrilled with both DVD and Fruit Snacks when I got to his Daycare!
Yay Albertsons and Kellogg's!
