We have had such a busy shopping weekend and yesterday, my husband and I drove south a bit to hit Outlet stores near us. Before leaving the house, we needed to stop by an office supply store. On the way out the door, I spotted a printer that caught my eye. The HP Touchsmart Plus. It was on sale a good price, but my husband suggested we wait since we will do a bit of research on best price since we may stop somewhere else. I got in the car, jumped on my phone and saw that Staples has it $10 cheaper ending that night! We looked at store availability and saw that Olympia had some and since we were headed south of there, we would stop in. Here is where the greatest Customer Service started...
We walked in wandering a second as we are not familiar with this store way down South of us and we were approached by an associate..I feel horrible I cannot remember his name and it is not on my reciept! He was young and obviously knew his stuff. We first asked about the printer and he ran around and found one in the back..phew! Last One! Then he spotted us now at the tablets and my husband asked questions, as I really want one for XMAS and he steered us to the Acer 10.1 Tablet. He took a lot of time explaining it compared to others and my mom even piped in with her questions as my sis is wanting an IPAD and she wanted to know differences. He was so focused on us and patient and seemed eager to share his knowledge. This weekend I had so many Rushed assistance everywhere I immediatley noticed how focused he was on us. He explained they are out, but could order us one online with free shipping..my husband walked to counter with him, while I satyed to look at this tablet some more. I noticed after a while, they are still at the counter and went over. The associate was on his 4th call to a store to see if he can do a purchase/ship. At this point 1 store said they would not give theirs up as they wanted the sales (my husband is a retail DM and said if he ever found out his stores pulled that crap, he would be livid!) and this kid and another MOD were also so frustrated about it. Now I have the MOD and this kid brainstorming. She suggested he call Boise and so on and he spotted some in a Tualitin, Or. store (spelling?) and they agreed to release one! Yay-and they would ship to us not the store since we came from far away! How awesome is that?! We had stressed that since they have so much time into us, we really wanted them to have the sale and we were not goimng to drive elsewhere for a store to be greedy like some of them were. The MOD and associate were so excited-even another female associate nearby did a "Yay" for us. In the process, he also talked us into the Acer monitor we had been eyeing to go with a new computer we recently purchased that was not compatible to our old monitor for video cord reasons. As a past Reatil supervisor and my husband's DM in retail career, these associates nailed it with us. They gave us time, patience, dedication and got more than just a printer sale out of us..we eneded up a printer, tablet and monitor and all at the best prices we have seen anywhere else! We talked the rest of the day about how our spur of the moment "Let's go to the Outlets" was meant to be. We never otherwise would have had any reason into this Olympia Staples store as it is about an hour away from us. I will definetley consider Staples for all my future office purchases before anyone else. I do use Staples for our office supplies at work and love the service I get in that regards also. Every call I make regarding searches/returns as I do all the ordering at my clinic, has always been so easy and satisfying! I really wish I could remember the names of these 2 associates, but all I can say to name them are they were the youngest looking male and female working the Olympia store Saturday 11/26. Now off to the store survey on my recipt to brag some more!
