Giveaway of the Week 9/23: Chaheati

Along with my love of finding & entering Giveaways, I love when I come across a product I have never seen before, but think "Man! I have probably dreamed about a product like this before. Why didn't I think to market it!" My husband & I are avid campers. We spend our spring/summers driving over the Mountains here in Wa. to the dunes with our boys and ATV's. We also take a yearly Silverwood (Idaho) camping trip. Being in the Northwest does not always leave us warm camping nights and I have spent many curled up, bearing the fire pit smoke in my face so I can get the direct heat of the fire. Then I come across a HEATED CAMP CHAIR! Are you kidding me?! And it is a giveaway (about the only way I can afford this luxury for myself right now)! Although, if I do not manage to win one, it is so-o-o going on a BDay list this spring and I have a feeling the boys would want one too! I only wish it was offered in hot Pink and Purple because as the only female in this family, the odds of anyone else wanting to claim it would be a lot slimmer :-) The giveaway I found is being hosted by Cincinnati Coupons. How lucky are they to have reviewed this? She mentions on her post that she will use it on the Football field....I would also use it at the cold Baseball Game nights for my son!

My Pick: Product of the Week! Ghirardelli

As a mom to 3 boys and wife and full time employee, I have very little time for indulgence. My favorite end to the day is all boys in bed and a beer (I'm not too much of a wine drinker..just 1 beer is all because anymore is too heavy on me every night!) with 2 squares of my favorite chocolate-Dark Chocolate and Caramel Ghirardelli! Target has the best price here unless I find them on sale. But the reason I chose them as this weeks favorite product of mine is that I noticed that the Fall Pumpkin Spice Caramel Squares are back!

I honestly cannot remember how I came about to try these..when I think back I believe it may have been a sample at the Ghirardelli store on one of our Vegas trips. I do not have a Ghirardelli store nearby me, so every time I go to Vegas I stop at the one on the strip and buy lots including their powdered White Chocolate for coffees! If you can find these at the stores it would be so worth the hunt!  I will now look in the Halloween or special sections as they may not be in the regular stock. These were just too hard to describe in words how delicious it is, so you just have to trust me and try them! I will now be on the hunt and if I do find them, I think I will have to purchase many bags so I can have them out on Thanksgiving for everyone to try. Of course, you can order them and many cute gifts on their website: http://shop.ghirardelli.com/ . While their, if you click on the About Us tab, they really do have a cute story of how they came to be. I loved hearing the story of them and the building they use in SF as it was told on a SF Harbor Tour I took once.

Why do I love Ghiradelli?
Perfect chocolate texture!
Love their flavors and Dark Chocolate options
Grew up as a child in the Bay Area and have always loved visiting the San Francisco store!
Price!
Packaging-especially how it blends into a gift Basket nicely.
It has been a part of my evening ritual a while now!

Now off to put some boys to bed!StumbleUpon

Favorite Giveaway of the week 9/16

I love reading reviews on the products and saying to myself: "Man, my son would be occupied for such a long time when I need him to be if I had this!!" I have seen the giveaway on a few blogs and the most recent blog Life is a Sandcastle. I can see him on his "Mario" bed doodling away and the expressions, as he is full of expression all the time, he would have as he turned out the lights and saw his drawings! not to mention, I may be able to use it as a tool to have him feel better about lights being off.

What: Glow Crazy Distance Doodler

Where: Life is a Sandcastle

Ends: 9/29 11:59pm EST

Why I love it:

Friday Field Trip!

Last week I said I would start posting my son & I's Friday Filed Trip. I am off all day on Fridays and it is just my 3 year old and I and since I am homeschooling to back up the education he gets at daycare with the Teach My Preschooler at home, I want to make Friday a day off of lessons and have an outing or experience to teach my son a life lesson beyond the books.

So, this Friday I had planned on grocery shopping and was thinking of how I may incorporate the trip to the grocery store into a lesson when my husband called to say his Dad's Lab's (dog) ear had filled with another Hematoma. As a Veterinary Technician (in the past-I now work in human medicine) I know that since the hematoma surgery fails everytime, that if I go over and drain it and have him use the cleaner & meds and hot pack where I drain, that it seems to last for about 8-10 months and seems like it comes back again in a year or so. And he cannot afford the $600 ear surgery. So, off my son and I went with Betadine, syringes, and to pick up her meds at the vet.

Miss Daisy

Lesson of the day: Compassion!

When I stopped to buy more Betadine, I had my son pick out special treats for Daisy. He made his choice and proudly carried them to checkout. I handed him the bag to carry to the car. The ride their, I explained what we were doing to make Daisy's oueie on her ear feel better and mommy is trained to do it. When we got there, Anthony's job was to feed her treats and talk nice and tell her it is OK. Afterwards, we all praised Daisy and I handed Anthony a ball and told him to go outside and play fetch to reward her being such a good girl. He gladly did that! So, not an ideal Friday scenario, but a lesson in compassion and praise nonetheless!StumbleUpon

My Pick: Product of the Week

I thought I'd try a new weekly post where I pick my own product of the week. I love telling people when I find a product I love and these posts will be about a product of MY choosing and MY review of it. When I though of this, many products I use came to mind, but the fisrt was my Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion. Several months ago I won this lotion in a blog giveaway and am in love with it! I use it as a face/neck moisturizer. Even at 34, I can break out easily and I have never had a problem using this moisturizer!

Skin MD Natural Original Formula: 4oz Bottle

What do I love about it?

1. It is very gentle on my skin. My skin is clearer that ever!
2. A little goes a long way. A dab on my finger will do face and an accidental, larger dab will also cover my neck area.
3. No fragrance, so you don't have to smell like a moisturized face for hours!
4. It's Natural..who doesn't like that?!

So, there it is! My first favorite product!StumbleUpon

Giveaway for Homeschooling my Preschooler Idea! CLOSED

I recently made the decision to Home school my 3 year old until Kindergarten in 2 years. At that point he will go to the local school for Kindergarten and beyond. I made the decision because 1) I don't need a daycare AND Preschool bill and 2)because of Daycare 3 days/week and 2 teen brother's, he is very social and I have no concerns there. He gets a less intense preschool at his daycare and I want to reinforce that at home. I do work M-Th and have Fri-Sun off. I plan to use 20 minutes a day (or night on my workdays while brother is doing his homework) by using the Teach My Preschooler program this year and I will pick a different one next year.

Where I would like some help is that on Fridays I am off and the older boys are at school/work and my husband works. Traditionally I use Fridays to run errands/go somewhere fun with just my 3 year old and I would like to continue that tradition! I would love some ideas of not only places to visit with him, but how I can use that "field trip" to teach him something new and educational. I live about an hour from Seattle and so we tend to do more indoor rather than outdoor activities. I know of many places to go, but lack the creativity to turn it into and educational trip on a 3 year old level.

I really want a lot of good ideas and will post on the weekends our "Friday Field Trip" Adventures. To entice all to pass the word and help me out, I am deciding to offer the all popular Coupon Insert Giveaway. Next Sunday 9/11 (man that will be one day of remembrance, I almost hate even typing that date!) I will purchase 3 additional papers and send those inserts to one lucky winner from Random.org.

    GIVEAWAY -WINNER #16 My4boysand1

Next Sunday there will be (2) Red Plums and a Smart Source mailed out to the winner ASAP after they respond to my email. That means 9 inserts total!!!

     MANDATORY

Leave me your idea/experience of how to turn an outing into an educational experience for a 3 year old. Please include your email address with each entry.

EXTRA ENTRIES (AFTER MANDATORY IS DONE):

1) Follow by GFC (Google Friend Connect)
2) Friend me on Facebook
3) Subscribe by email

Thank you!! I was not compensated for any mention of Teach My. Actually, I won the program on a giveaway and was so excited about it because I have done some research and really liked the Teach My aspect. This Giveaway will end at 11:59pm PST on Friday 9/16. Winner will be chosen by Random.org and will be emailed by me.StumbleUpon
